Margie Graves is Licensed in North Carolina as a Clinical Social Worker and Substance Abuse Specialist. Nationally she is credentialed as an Employee Assistance Professional and Eating Disorders Counselor.

Margie is a graduate of Springfield College, Springfield, Mass., and has a Master's Degree in Social Work from East Carolina University. In 2007 she received a post master's certificate in Expressive Arts Therapy from Appalachia State University, Boone, NC.

Margie has worked for many years in mental health management as a Director of Treatment Centers for Substance Abuse and Dual Diagnosis. More recently she has been the Executive Director of a non-profit Agency that assists Dental Professionals in North Carolina.

As an expressive artist and mental health professional, the Expressive Arts have played an important role in her own personal recovery to such a degree that she is committed to working with clients in this experiential non-directive type of counseling. She states, however, "I still use a combination of expressive therapy with traditional psychotherapy" as I find that is what helps my clients most.

Raised on the New Hampshire Seacoast and moving to NC in 1993, provides an interesting backdrop to her versatility as a manager, therapist and artist. She has continued to pursue, not only her clinical and management expertise, but has had an untiring and dedication to "passing on" her own experience, strength and hope to her addicted professionals and clients that she works with professionally in her employment and private practice.
